Before We Begin

Do I need to know exactly where I want to go?

Not at all. Some clients come to me with specific dates and a destination already selected. Others simply know they need a vacation. Tell me what you enjoy, who is traveling, your approximate budget, and how you want the trip to feel. We can figure out the rest together.

What should I include on the inquiry form?

There is some required information that I need such as your name, phone number, email, etc. Then share as much as you can about your dates, travelers, budget, interests, and previous vacations. It also helps to tell me what you do not enjoy. The more I understand about you, the better I can personalize my recommendations.

What are your fees?

I charge a Trip Planning Fee, which is based on the complexity, duration, and number of guests. This covers the time, research, and expertise required to curate your personalized experience.

When should I start planning?

As early as possible! For major international trips or popular holiday periods, 9 to 12 months in advance is ideal. For cruises and villa rentals, sometimes even earlier. This ensures the best availability and pricing. But don't let a timeline stop you. Some of the best travel plans are the last minute ones.

Can’t I plan and book this myself?

Absolutely, but a booking engine or AI tool cannot offer the personal relationship that comes from working with someone who knows you and understands how you like to travel. I take the time to learn what matters to you, explain your options, and make recommendations based on your preferences—not simply what is popular or promoted online. Technology can show you possibilities, but it cannot replace personal guidance from someone invested in helping you create the right experience.

What if I like to stay in control of my travel plans?

That is perfectly fine. Working with me does not mean giving up control—you remain involved in every decision and can have as much insight into the planning process as you would like. I provide the research, guidance, and booking support while you decide what feels right. When you book through me, you also support my independent travel business at no additional booking cost in many cases, helping me continue doing work I genuinely enjoy.

How I Plan Your Trip

What is your planning process?

It starts with your inquiry form, followed by an initial consultation. Once the Planning Fee is paid, I develop a custom proposal. We refine it together until you are happy. Then, I handle all the bookings, share your final itinerary on my mobile app, and stay available during your travel.

Can you get me the best deals?

While I always look for competitive rates, my focus is on providing the best value. This often means negotiated rates, complimentary upgrades, breakfast included, and resort credits that you cannot get booking on your own. My priority is quality and a seamless experience rather than being a discount wholesaler.

Do you work with large groups or corporate travel?

Yes! I specialize in multi-generational family groups, milestone celebrations, and small incentive groups. Group bookings often (but not always) require additional lead time for coordination.

The Trips I Plan

Do you only plan international travel?

Not at all. While I love curating vacations to Italy, Greece, and beautiful island destinations, I also plan domestic getaways, Disney vacations, and National Park adventures. Whether you prefer an elevated four- or five-star experience or something more budget-conscious, I’ll help you find options that fit your priorities and travel style.

Can I use my credit card points or miles?

Generally, I cannot book using your points directly. However, I can design your itinerary and then advise you on which parts you can book yourself using miles. Most of my clients find that the extra perks I secure are more valuable than many point redemption options.

Accessibility and Special Considerations

Do you plan for travelers with mobility issues?

Absolutely. Accessibility is a high priority. I work with partners who provide specialized transport, accessible tours, and vetted accommodations. Please share specific mobility requirements early in the process so I can verify every detail of the route.

How do you handle dietary allergies?

Yes. I will document the allergies you share and notify the appropriate airlines, hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators. If an allergy is severe, I will also provide the correct supplier contact information so you can personally confirm how your needs will be handled.

Can you help with travel involving a service animal?

Yes. Because my husband and I travel with his service dog, I can share general information and practical insight from our experiences. However, I do not determine documentation requirements, complete paperwork, or advise clients on exactly which forms they need. Ultimately, the handler is the person responsible at the airport, cruise port, or international border. For that reason, each handler must verify current requirements directly with the appropriate government authorities, travel suppliers, and veterinarian, then complete and carry all necessary documentation. This is the best way to ensure nothing important is missed.

After You Book

What happens if something goes wrong while I am away?

You are never alone. I provide a 24/7 local contact for immediate onsite issues, and I am available as your advocate for larger problems. My mobile app also keeps all your contact numbers and emergency details in your pocket.

Is travel insurance mandatory?

While travel insurance is not strictly required for most destinations, I very strongly recommend it. It may help protect your financial investment when unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, travel delays, or other covered events affect your trip.

I sincerely hope you never need to use it, but serious emergencies can happen to travelers of any age. Medical treatment or an emergency evacuation away from home can result in an overwhelming out-of-pocket expense, and without appropriate coverage, the traveler is responsible for those costs.
